A Ho Chi Minh City Museum display: COMMUNICATION in the RESISTANCE
VIETNAM: Recently Ho Chi Minh City Museum put on another of its well presented photo and artifacts displays. This one was about Communication in the Resistance. I know that many people do not get to attend these types of displays, because the events are rarely advertised in the English language, so I make sure to attend and photograph the displays, and then pass them onto you via this website.
I found this display, Communication in the Resistance, very interesting. I have often seen recently published books, about the resistance, which have poor quality photos. This display reveals why. The working conditions and lack of quality cameras and film-stock made it VERY difficult for resistance-fighters/ journalists to operate.
There are more than 160 photographs in this article. I put nearly everyone of them through a very basic digital enhancing programme, in an attempt to bring out more detail. Many of the original black and white photos were nothing more than over or under-exposed, grainy blobs. I am extremely happy with the extra details that can now be seen. The photos on this website reveal so much more than the originals. FACES of individual resistance fighters are now recognizable. These clearer photos reveal how YOUNG the resistance fighters were!

There are many excellent museums, large and small, in Ho Chi Minh city. I thoroughly recommend a visit to this one.
